Title: Technical Designer (multiple open roles)

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design teams to develop flat patterns during the initial stages of the tech pack process.
- Review flat sketches and construction details, providing feedback to ensure design intent, fit, and manufacturability.
- Interpret design sketches, specifications, and samples to create accurate garment patterns and construction solutions.
- Clearly communicate design concepts, pattern details, and garment construction methods to cross-functional partners.
- Create, update, and maintain technical packages, including specifications, construction details, grading, measurements, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Cut pattern pieces and support sample development as needed.
- Partner closely with designers, patternmakers, sample makers, and production teams to resolve fit, construction, and pattern-related issues.
- Review development, fit, pre-production, and production samples for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Measure and evaluate samples against size specifications to ensure fit, quality, and consistency.
- Recommend fit, pattern, and construction adjustments to achieve desired design and performance standards.
- Communicate corrections, revisions, and technical comments clearly to vendors and manufacturing partners.
- Track and manage product development milestones, including sample approvals, testing requirements, final specifications, and production readiness.
- Monitor pre-production activities and ensure key calendar dates and deliverables are met.
- Identify and analyze technical issues, recommend solutions, and follow through to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support product fittings, sample preparation, garment measurements, and other technical development activities as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Development, Textiles, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in technical design, apparel production, product development, or a related apparel industry role.
- Strong experience with PLM systems, including management of product specifications, technical packages, fit comments, and development workflows.
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, fit standards, grading, and apparel manufacturing processes.
- 3+ years of experience in patternmaking, grading, and garment construction.
- Solid understanding of sewing techniques, stitch properties, and garment finishing details.
- Strong knowledge of apparel fit and the ability to evaluate and communicate fit recommendations effectively.
- Ability to interpret design intent and develop practical technical solutions while maintaining aesthetic objectives.
- Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and large volumes of technical information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced product development environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems preferred.
