Responsibilities:
- Welcome all donors and customers promptly with a positive and approachable attitude.
- Assist individuals with unloading donations and provide support as needed.
- Offer donation receipts and share information about the organization’s mission and impact.
- Express appreciation to every donor and encourage repeat visits through exceptional service.
- Receive and safely handle donated goods, ensuring proper care and compliance with handling guidelines.
- Sort incoming items into broad categories such as apparel, household goods, and footwear based on established processes.
- Prepare sorted donations for transfer by organizing them into designated bins or containers.
- Maintain accurate daily counts of donations and sorting productivity, communicating updates to leadership as required.
- Keep donation areas (both interior and exterior) clean, orderly, and accessible at all times.
- Ensure donation stations are properly stocked with supplies, including receipts and collection bins.
- Assist with preparing items for transport to designated retail locations.
- Follow all operational procedures for receiving, storing, and staging donated goods.
- Adhere to all safety standards and operational protocols, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support equipment readiness and ensure materials are available for ongoing workflows.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in stocking, warehouse operations, or merchandise handling.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- At least one year of experience in retail or customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to interact positively with a diverse customer base.
- Customer-focused mindset with a friendly, service-oriented approach.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and business demands.
- Dependability and willingness to receive feedback and grow.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Frequent standing, lifting, and moving of donated items in a physically active setting.
