Title: Senior Project Manager, Store Design

Salar range: $130,000 – 160,000

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the full lifecycle of multiple retail development projects simultaneously, including feasibility studies, design development, construction documentation, bidding, permitting, and construction administration.

Develop and maintain project schedules, milestone tracking, budgets, and risk management plans, proactively identifying challenges and implementing solutions to support target opening dates.

Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders including Design, Real Estate, Construction, Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing teams to ensure timely decision-making and project alignment.

Serve as the primary project lead for assigned developments, providing regular updates to leadership and driving accountability across all project phases.

Lead and oversee the design process, including plans, elevations, sections, details, specifications, and presentation materials.

Ensure consistency with established brand, design, and customer experience standards across all projects while adapting to local regulations and site-specific constraints.

Develop project-specific details and design solutions when prototype standards require modification.

Manage and coordinate external architecture, engineering, and design consultants throughout design development and construction documentation phases.

Review consultant deliverables, shop drawings, material submissions, and design documentation to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives.

Partner with Real Estate teams during site evaluation, lease review, and due diligence efforts, providing insight into design, construction, and operational implications.

Conduct feasibility assessments for prospective retail locations, identifying opportunities, constraints, and potential project risks.

Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and shopping center representatives regarding design approvals, tenant requirements, and project execution.

Assist in the development of preliminary project budgets and support contractor bidding and selection processes.

Collaborate with construction teams to address RFIs, field conditions, and design-related challenges throughout project execution.

Conduct site visits as needed to verify construction quality, adherence to design intent, and compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.

Work closely with contractors, vendors, and consultants to resolve constructability issues while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and design standards.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related design discipline.

10-15 years of architecture, design, and project management experience, preferably within retail, hospitality, commercial, or multi-site development environments.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel, and project management software.

Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, documentation, permitting processes, and project delivery.

Knowledge of ADA requirements, life safety standards, and applicable building codes.

Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical, organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving abilities.

Experience with sustainable design practices is preferred; LEED accreditation is a plus.
