Title: Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller

Location: Suffolk County, NY
Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor the accounting team.
• Oversee the preparation and review of all financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Ensure the Accounting team completes daily, weekly, and monthly tasks efficiently, including reconciliation of bank, credit card, and other accounts across multiple entities.
• Provide actionable financial insights to management for data-driven decision-making.
• Manage cash flow and provide financial perspective for senior leadership.
• Oversee weekly bank transfers for intercompany balances and payroll clearing accounts.
• Analyze cash status and provide financial perspective for senior leadership on potential projects.
• Continuously refine accounting and operational processes to enhance accuracy and controls as the company scales.
• Lead the creation of policy and procedure manuals to ensure financial consistency.
• Implement technology solutions to optimize financial reporting and operations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including taxes.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain financial integrity.
• Lead internal and external audits and identify opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation.
• Oversee insurance policies and risk management programs.
• Lead financial planning for new locations, acquisitions, and expansion efforts.
• Conduct financial analysis and modeling to assess growth opportunities.
• Oversee lease agreements, property taxes, and insurance for all restaurant locations.
• Provide financial insights for special projects as requested by Ownership.
• Contribute to company-wide improvements through cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5–7 years of financial management experience, preferably in multi-unit and hospitality.
• Proven leadership skills and proficiency with financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP).
• Technical accounting skills, including expertise in GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Very growth orientated and desire to take courses, read books and attend seminars.
Salary: $100,000-$150,000K
