Title: Salon Manager

Location: Danbury, Connecticut
Salary: $35,000-$51,000 plus commissions

Responsibilities:
• Leads by example in delivering exceptional client service, ensuring every guest receives a professional, personalized experience
• Coaches and supports stylists to consistently exceed client expectations and build long-term loyalty
• Creates a positive, high-energy environment that encourages client retention, referrals, and rebooking
• Provides a full range of professional hairstyling services including cutting, styling, and chemical services for all hair types
• Maintains an active book of business and steps behind the chair as needed to support service demand
• Recruits top talent through social media, networking, referrals, and partnerships with cosmetology schools and local salons
• Provides ongoing, constructive coaching and feedback to improve individual and team performance
• Develops team members through education, mentorship, and career pathing opportunities
• Ensures completion of training programs, including core and advanced artistic education
• Fosters an inclusive, respectful, and motivating salon culture that drives engagement, retention, and performance
• Drives revenue growth through strong service and retail sales leadership
• Monitors key performance metrics such as productivity, rebooking rates, referral generation, client retention, and new client acquisition
• Identifies opportunities for improvement, determines root causes, and executes action plans to achieve business goals
• Manages labor and salary costs in alignment with profitability targets
• Demonstrates a strong personal contribution to service and retail sales
• Maintains salon presentation standards, ensuring merchandising and product displays are visually appealing and effective
• Monitors inventory, replenishment, and backbar usage to control costs and optimize client experience
• Addresses product-related concerns and ensures team members are knowledgeable in recommending retail solutions
• Ensures the salon environment is clean, safe, and compliant with all licensing and operational requirements
• Consistently meets or exceeds established performance standards, including sales, service, client satisfaction, and attendance
• Adheres to all operational procedures, safety standards, and state board regulations
• Supports and executes all company programs, policies, and hiring practices
Requirements:
• Current cosmetology license (required)
• Proven experience in salon leadership or senior stylist role
• Strong ability to coach, develop, and inspire a team
• Demonstrated success in driving sales performance and client satisfaction
• Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with servicing clients behind the chair
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for the beauty industry and ongoing professional development
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
