Our client is a growing children's apparel company based in New York City. We are recruiting for a Jr Color Assistant to join their team. This is a true entry level position, and new graduates are welcome to apply!
POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Color Assistant will support the Design team with the organization and coordination of seasonal color information across departments and factories. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with an interest in color, fashion, and product development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize and maintain color cards and color standards by department, season, and factory.
- Prepare and distribute color cards and related information to internal teams and factories.
- Track color submissions, approvals, revisions, and updates.
- Assist Designers with seasonal color development, presentations, and color-related projects.
- Coordinate with Design, Product Development, Production, and Sourcing to ensure color information is accurate and communicated on time.
- Communicate with factories regarding color cards, standards, and approvals.
- Maintain accurate records and files related to seasonal color development.
- Support the Design team with additional administrative and organizational projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ year of experience in fashion, apparel, accessories, product development, or a related field; relevant internships or school experience will be considered.
- Strong interest in color, fashion, and design.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working with detailed product information and physical color standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Pantone/color standards and PLM systems is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Product Development, or a related field preferred.
