Title: Fit & Spec Technician

Key Responsibilities
- Measure and evaluate fit samples from first fit through TOP (Top of Production) samples.
- Lead and participate in fit sessions with designers, live models, and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze garment fit, construction, and workmanship, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Create, revise, and maintain patterns using digital patternmaking software (PAD, Gerber, Lectra, CLO3D, or similar).
- Develop and update measurement specifications, grade rules, and technical documentation.
- Accurately transfer fit comments, pattern corrections, and construction changes into Excel and communicate them to suppliers and manufacturers.
- Track and ensure all fit and pattern corrections are implemented in subsequent samples.
- Inspect samples for quality, workmanship, measurements, and construction standards before customer and buyer approvals.
- Coordinate sample approvals and maintain accurate records of all fit and production-related communications.
- Liaise with designers, suppliers, customers, and production teams to ensure timely execution of updates and approvals.
- Educate suppliers on fit, construction, patternmaking, and quality requirements.
- Send approved fit samples to customers for review and manage follow-up communications.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Fit, Spec, Pattern Making, or Garment Technical Development, preferably in ladies’ apparel.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, fit analysis, and industry standards.
- Ability to independently develop, revise, and correct patterns throughout the product development process.
- Experience conducting fit sessions and providing detailed fit comments and pattern corrections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with digital patternmaking software such as PAD, Gerber, Lectra, CLO3D, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of PLM systems and Illustrator is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with retailer standards, including Costco standards, is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Notes
- The role is heavily focused on fit, specifications, pattern corrections, and quality control.
- Creation of trim sheets, fashion sketches, and tech packs may not be required if dedicated support teams are in place.
- Candidates must possess a strong technical understanding of garment construction and be comfortable communicating fit and pattern corrections directly to suppliers and manufacturers.
