Title: Director of Sales

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company's wholesale sales strategy to achieve revenue, margin, and market share objectives.
- Lead relationships with major sporting goods retailers and national accounts, leveraging existing industry relationships to drive growth opportunities.
- Partner with executive leadership to establish sales goals, strategic initiatives, and long-term business plans.
- Create and execute annual and multi-year sales plans, including pricing, promotional, and seasonal selling strategies.
- Oversee all aspects of account management, including sales performance, inventory planning, forecasting, pricing, and retailer execution.
- Analyze sales results, market trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to drive business decisions and maximize opportunities.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, and Operations teams to identify product opportunities and execute successful go-to-market strategies.
- Lead retailer presentations, line reviews, business planning meetings, and seasonal sales initiatives.
- Manage and develop a high-performing sales team through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning.
- Monitor monthly sales performance and key business metrics to ensure targets are achieved.
- Coordinate market appointments, customer visits, trade shows, and industry events as needed.
- Drive strategic account growth while identifying and securing new business opportunities within the sporting goods channel.
- Travel to customer locations and industry events as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive wholesale sales experience, preferably within the sporting goods, outdoor, athletic, active lifestyle, or consumer products industries.
- Demonstrated success managing and growing large wholesale accounts.
- Established relationships with major sporting goods retailers and key industry decision-makers.
- Proven experience developing and executing successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, pricing strategy, and inventory planning.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing sales teams.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%.
- Strong understanding of retail merchandising, inventory management, and category management principles.
- Stable employment history with demonstrated success and longevity in previous positions.
- Documented achievements in revenue growth, account expansion, and strategic partnerships.
- Strong reputation within the sporting goods retail community.
