Title: Accounting Technician
Location: Laval, QC
Working Model: Hybrid, 3 days onsite
Industry: Accounting / Finance
Salary: $60,000–70,000 — Salary is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by JPSearch.
Responsibilities:
- Perform bookkeeping and ensure accuracy of accounting data
- Carry out bank reconciliations in a rigorous and timely manner
- Prepare documents and reports for financial analysis
- Analyze and validate internal credit card reports
- Review and approve employee expense accounts
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare tax filings and reports (GST/QST)
- Contribute to preparation of financial statements
- Support continuous improvement of internal accounting processes and tools
Requirements:
- DEC in Accounting or equivalent post-secondary diploma
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role
- Current or previous experience working for a retail company as an accountant
- Bilingual (French/English) – spoken and written
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency with computer tools and comfort with IT systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities
- Demonstrated autonomy and initiative in daily tasks
